OSR 2005

Once again, we had a great week at Onteora! Charles has advanced to Second Class Rank and Joey advanced to Frist Class. 100% of our troop qualified at the lake test, either as swimmers or beginners. As a Troop, over 30 Merit Badges were earned!

SPL Evan, QM Justin, and Committee Chairman Vic were all inducted into the Order of the Arrow, and PL Andrew and ASPL David sealed their OA vows as Brotherhood members of the Lodge.

Popular spots included climbing at the COPE course, “The Glaize” (a reproduction Frontier settlement complete with Blacksmith) where some of the boys learned how to make their own forks and tools from Matt the Blacksmith. Shooting sports is always popular with the Troop, and this year we earned Merit Badges in Rifle, Archery, and Shotgun. One of our Troop highlights was when PL Andrew “called out” Ace, the Shotgun Instructer, and challenged him to a Shotgun competition in front of the camp... and won!
