We had a very busy weekend at Pouch and the weather really cooperated. It only rained one night but kindly waited until after everyone was already asleep. As the adults kept saying, you would never know that we were on Staten Island!
Friday night we hiked up to the cabin with our backpacks on and then went back for the Troop gear. The Scouts are all learning why it is good to pack lightly! The PLC met Friday night, and on Saturday morning we had a great inter-patrol Scout-Skills relay competition. The first step was to decode the coded assignments, and everyone had to work closely together within their Patrols. Special thanks to ASM Mark for the many hours that went into devising this activity!
After lunch we went to the outdoor climbing wall and everyone got a turn to climb.
Saturday night we ended the day with a big fire outside that they played Infiltration around.
Sunday morning, we worked on an advancement with all the scouts. We talked about some food ideas and all the scouts got to taste the fudge we had made Saturday night. We are working on expanding their cooking repertoire and teaching them some new ideas.
