Jan: Pouch

It was the Blizzard of 2005... so Troop 189 went camping! We got out to Pouch Friday night and settled into Red Pine cabin... the furthest back in the camp!  A big hot fire in the fireplace warmed everyone up, and the snow started Saturday morning right on schedule.

Saturday afternoon we built a Ballista (catapult) for a special 189 twist on a snowball fight. By late in the day the snow was really coming down, so we stayed inside and did lots of working on our Rank Advancement. Congratulations to Alex, Paul, and Evan K for earning Tenderfoot!

We hiked out Sunday after the snow stopped.  Everyone had a great time and learned about
“Being Prepared”!

Alex Says: This trip we went to Pouch and we were in a cabin  and it was big. We got about 2 feet of snow. We built a catapult and we kept launching snowballs at other people in this troop. We know now what winter camping is all about. It took the troop a long time until we got to the cars.
