Jan - Alpine

In January the Troop split into two cabins at Alpine Scout Camp. The Swordsmen, Penguins, and King Kong Patrols took Bates Cabin and the Unicorns and Camo Patrols slept in Slater cabin. It was cold over the weekend, but we still had fun.  On Saturday Scoutmaster Steve taught map-making skills, and the the Patrols had a mapping contest. Saturday afternoon ASPL Alex and SM Steve built an Orienteering course and Sunday morning ASPL Michael took out Scouts who needed the requirement.

Saturday we had a big outside fire (thanks T!).  We had great apple cobblers (thanks Larry!). It was very cold Saturday night, and got down to about 10 degrees, but we all stayed warm. This was the first trip for new Scouts Larry, and Eric and everyone welcomes them to the Troop.

Special thanks to the adult volunteers who made the trip possible... SM Steve, plus ASMs Art, Mike Larry, Andrew (home from college), Andrea and Paul.  Very, very special thanks go to ASM Ed. Even though he couldn’t make the trip, he drove our trailer up on Friday, then turned around to go back to work, and then drove back to Alpine Sunday morning to pick us up.  BULLY!!!
