The Summer of 2006! 2006 will always be remembered as the summer of the “moisture event”... the severe flooding in Central New York State which led to the first week of Onteora being canceled. Fortunately everything was dried out by the time we got there, although the drivers had to take a lengthy detour to get to the camp since the usual road in was closed all summer. Our weather was good right up to the last day... in fact, was a little too hot which led to lots of trips to the lake to visit Andrew, who was working at the Waterfront as the Lifesaving Merit Badge Counselor. The boys also enjoyed visiting with Evan, the Field Sports Director. The boys earned lots of Merit Badges and several advanced in rank. |
