For Every 100 boys in Scouting…

3 will develop a career based on what they started in a Merit Badge program
1 will use his Scouting Skills to save a life
and 2 will become Eagle Scouts

Troop 189 has a long history that goes back over 50 years. The troop charter lapsed throughout the 80’s and 90’s, but the revitalized Troop 189 is back and is going strong. We congratulate Andrew, our first Eagle of the rechartered Troop 189 and are proud to add his name to the Troop 189 Honor Roll of Eagle Scouts:

Troop Historian Michael conducted research in the Council Archives.  He learned much about the original Troop 189, which was first Chartered in 1954.  Here is what he learned:

According to these records, Mike Ferguson was the seventh Scoutmaster of Troop 189 upon the recharter of the Troop.  Steve Innerfield is our eighth Scoutmaster, and interestingly, is a second-generation Scoutmaster. His Dad was the Scoutmaster of Troop 303 in Oceanside in the 1970’s.
